"Serious About Being Funny" is a program of hopeful entertainment that provides an hour of light-hearted humor and introspect. I
know I have a lot of fun with it. I have two or three versions of SABF, my favorite being the JD in Review. It's my favorite because it is
almost completely about my years with JDSSMD: Comedians at Large and many of the skits we did.
Another version is about church life and some of the funnier things that have happened to me in the ministry.
Plus a smattering of stories from others' ministries.
The third version is about life in general with some renditions of others' material. This one is best suited for a
secular audience but I'll still take privilege of talking about the goodness of God.
The format is audience participation and can be extended to a two hour show with music provided by additional
personnel. I use props and sets, so it's pretty much a full blown event. It works great for fellowships, banquets, fund-
raisers, or just as a special event.
Floppo the Clown usually gets honorable mention during the show and is usually the avenue taken to do a
gospel presentation. It also gives me the opportunity to do the nose gag and the flower trick. Ya gotta
love it!
As is with other TUG Ministries , SABF can come to your church or civic group on a love offering basis.

The pictures on this page are of some of the characters used in my shows and during years of Vacation Bible School leadership.
